- The West Side Wonder Mural is a vibrant mural that was created by Charley Jupiter Hamilton.
182 Summers St Charleston, WV 25301
- Sculptor James Simon created two large-scale figures that represent traditional Appalachian music in a vibrant way.
- You can find these sculptures at the entrance of City Center at Slack Plaza.
Capitol Street Charleston, WV 25301
- A historic clock marks the entrance to Brawley Walkway.
- This street clock is located on Capitol St. across from Taylor Books.
Elizabeth St. Charleston, WV
- Zulu Painter, a West Virginia Native, created this mural and has said it is, “dedicated to all the Feminine energy out there nurturing, protecting and guiding.” The mural is a project of the City of Charleston, YWCA Charleston, and the Charleston Urban Renewal Authority.
- This mural is located on Elizabeth Street just across from Laidley Field.
Kanawha Blvd. E. Charleston, WV
- As you enjoy a relaxing walk along the river from the Capitol to Patrick Street stop to take a photo on the Kanawha Blvd. with the South Side Bridge and sunset as your background.

- Want to see another Selfie Spot in town? Well, you’re in luck! Visit the ‘You Can Do Anything’ mural in Kanawha City.
West Side Gateway Mural
- This #CWV staple sits on the corner of W Washington St & Pennsylvania Ave on the side of Gardner’s Cleaners. The West Side Gateway Mural is an eye-catching wall painting by Dan Toro featuring a man daydreaming while on his lunch break.
- The best view is under the interstate bridge. You can also find more artwork there.
Haddad Riverfront Park
- This riverfront amphitheater provides a beautiful backdrop to capture the fun and excitement of Charleston. Views of the river of the unique design of the amphitheater, this is a must get photo!
- The image during the evening when the lights are on is one of our favorites.
West Virginia State Capitol
- With multiple statues and green space around the campus, you will find the perfect location.
- We recommend photos of the Veteran’s Memorial at night. The lighting in from the structure is gorgeous.
Charleston Postcard Mural
- This piece of public art is a newer installation. This installation showcases #CWV favorite attractions. Challenge yourself to see them all while in town. This mural is located on the bottom floor of the Summers St. parking garage.
- After your selfie photo shoot, stay downtown for some delicious food. There is plenty of unique restaurants to give you a taste of Charleston’s food scene.

- This mural was unveiled during the 2020 Pride Month. Celebrate your love for all by posing in front of this colorful piece of art located on the backside of Black Sheep Burrito and Bad Shepard Beer Co.
Don’t Tell Me This Town Ain’t Got No Heart Mural
- What do cheeseburgers and music have in common? They are both located in this Ian Bode original on the back side of Sam’s Uptown Café. This bold and funky artwork will be perfect for photos.
Elk City Wings Mural
- These painted wings fit every member of your family. There are multiple styles including butterflies and angel wings. The row of wings is located on the side of the building on Tennessee Ave.
