How to support local restaurants!

Public Outreach for Local Restaurants in Response to COVID-19

Organizer for Charleston Restaurant Week issued a public outreach campaign “Distance Socially Eat Locally” in efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 while still encouraging Charlestonians to help keep our local restaurants prosperous.

Drastic measures are being taken with institutions across the state, country, and world as everyone is working diligently to stop the spread of COVID-19. Restauranteurs and their staff will be among those hit the hardest financially during this time, trying to drive staff and keep people employed.

Most restaurants are focusing on a carry-out model. Diners can call their orders in and pick them up, with some offering curbside service for the first time.

Ordering from local restaurants during this time shows solidarity to our community. This beloved industry does not have a social safety net. When supporting our local restaurants, make sure to TIP GENEROUSLY.

WV Division of Tourism has created a list as well, or Kanawha Valley Takeout.
