November is known for the big Turkey Day feast, but before the stuffing and yams, take a bite out of these tasty events. The Mac ‘N Cheese Cookoff takes place Saturday, Nov 2 at Capitol Market. This annual pasta celebration benefits the Laurence Jones III Childhood Language Center. Wagging Tails & Nitro Ales benefits another great cause: Dog Bless, a local dog rescue group. This official ICS chili cookoff takes place Saturday, Nov 9 in Nitro.

Mountain Stage gifts us with two performances this month: Nov. 3 and Nov. 24. Beautiful: The Carole King Musical brings hits like “I Feel The Earth Move,” “One Fine Day,” “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” and “You’ve Got A Friend” to the Clay Center Nov 12. The Charleston Light Opera Guild promises a rip-roaring good time as it presents Oklahoma! this month.
