COVID 19 Updates

Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau Statement

The Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is focused on the well-being of visitors to the Charleston area, as well as members of our community. The Charleston CVB continues to monitor developments of the COVID-19 outbreak and its impact on travelers to and from the area.

On March 23rd West Virginia Governor Jim Justice issued a stay-at-home order for all West Virginia residents, instructing them to limit movement outside their homes. This order closes all non-essential businesses but does allow residents to obtain food, including curbside pickup from participating restaurants; prescriptions; attend medical appointments and seek medical care, as well as check on family. For a list of activities that fall under the stay at home order, visit governor.wv.gov.

At this time, the Charleston CVB strongly discourages unnecessary travel within our area in an attempt to help flatten the curve.

The Charleston CVB will continue monitoring developments and communicating with event organizers and other clients whose activities may be disrupted. Health and safety are our top priorities, and we will follow all guidance from local, state and national public health officials.

The CVB’s guiding principle is to seek and adhere to the most up-to-date expert guidance and follow recommendations from the CDC and US Travel Association.

Continue to follow the CVB’s Facebook page and our website, for the most up-to-date information.
