The Reimagined Tradition of Taste-of-ALL

25May 2016

“Reimagined” has become the word of 2016. With hundreds of events and traditions that keep the valley hip and historic, the teams and minds that created them and orchestrate them have taken the time to make them even better.

Taste-of-ALL (sponsored by Mardi Gras Casino & Resort) is one of these reimagined events. It has been a foodie favorite for over 30 years and has become FestivALL’s tastiest event for the past 7. The Charleston Civic Center has been holding this event since its conception, and has filled the bellies of over 100,000 attendees over the years. This Memorial Day weekend the event will keep its same delicious tradition and will move to another reimagined weekend that will complement the longstanding Vandalia Gathering at the Capitol.

The biggest change you will see is the location. On May 28 Four Points by Sheraton will open its lobby and ballroom for one Charleston’s largest food event. There will be 15 food vendors inside, accompanied by smooth live tunes and the addition of local beer and wine at the hotel bar. These beverages will be for purchase outside of the taste tickets. There will also be plenty of seating and tables for those who want enjoy their food sitting down.

In addition to the inside vendors, the Kanawha Boulevard will be closed down and filled with the sweet smells and tastes of the most delicious restaurants in town. Ten more restaurants and food trucks will line the streets; tents with tables and seating will be setup, local beer and wine will be available for purchase, and Vinyl Village will be spinning records all day long. And don’t worry; there will also be a kids’ area in front of the Schoenbaum stage for your little ones. Expect chalk art, face painting, bubbles and more!
