FestivALL Turns 2016 into a Work of Art

23Mar 2016

On March 21, FestivALL Charleston announced its 2016 schedule, major performances, the launch of a new website and more! With over 400 artists and over 300 exhibits and performances in 2015, 2016 is already looking to match and even exceed these numbers.

Charleston will “become a work of art” June 16-27, and will host a Preview Weekend May 27-29. The preview weekend will complement the 40th annual Vandalia Gathering, held on the Capitol grounds, and will kick-off the 2016 Live on the Levee summer concert series featuring the Hybrid Soul Project. This fun packed weekend will also welcome the 30-year tradition of Taste-of-ALL to the Four Points by Sheraton and Haddad Riverfront Park, as well as the free alternative music concert, Festiv-ALT.

FestivALL will also partner with West Virginia Public Broadcasting to bring The MOTH Mainstage, a popular performance storytelling show and podcast, to the Clay Center. You won’t want to miss this! It’s the perfect time to plan you stay-cation in CWV for Memorial Day weekend.

As for the main event, I can’t begin to explain the excitement and talent that will flood the streets during the last week of June. Starting with the opening ceremony at Appalachian Power Park on June 16, festival goers will be immersed in the arts and music of Charleston and the entire wild and wonderful state.  Grab a hot dog, a cold beer, and cheer on the Power baseball team as FestivALL welcomes you into the summer months full of family fun and art. And don’t forget! After the game West Virginia’s very own, Tyler Childers and ONA, will take the stage for a concert.
