Baseball is as American a sign of spring as there ever was. 31Mar 2016 Spring means many things to many people. Green grass. Budding trees. Warmer weather. It’s a new birth for the world as we shake off the cloak of winter’s grey skies. Spring is a time when everything seems possible. Springtime also means baseball. Baseball is as American a sign of spring as there ever was. It’s time once again to grab your friends and family and make plans to spend warm spring and summer evenings along the concourses of Appalachian Power Park. Suit up the kiddos with mitts and caps and take your places along the foul lines. Every crack of the bat could mean a homerun, or a foul ball that will be the next souvenir. Every warm evening at the ballpark is an opportunity for a new story, a few laughs and a memory. The home opener for the 2016 WV Power will be Thursday, April 14th as they take on the Lexington Legends. It’s a Thirsty Thursday, there’s a magnetic schedule giveaway and stick around for postgame fireworks to celebrate the dawning of a new season. 2016 will be a fun one at Appalachian Power Park. Opening weekend also features the 2nd Annual BrewFest Charlie West, the Power’s in-house craft beer festival, on April 16th, featuring music by the Company Stores. Sunday the 17th is a Kids Sunday Funday, kids can run the bases after the game and meet this year’s Power lineup for autographs. There are lots of other promotions planned for 2016. Here’s a full schedule. So make plans to meet your friends at Appalachian Power Park!
